Norway's killer, Breivik, admits to training on Modern Warfare 2

Oh boy, here we go again.

Norwegian gunman Anders Behring Breivik, currently on trial for killing 77 people in Norway last summer, admitted to using Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as training for his shooting spree.

Breivik also testified that he played World of Warcraft up to 16 hours a day.

Well, this should give politicians and activists some new ammo to attack video games as a cause for mass shooting sprees. It shouldn't be long now until we start to see lawmakers proposing bills against "violent" video games - probably ones similar to the recently shot down 1% sales tax on "violent" games in Oklahoma.

Last summer Breivik was responsible for a blast in Oslo that killed eight people along with the mass shooting that resulted in the deaths of 69 more people on nearby Utoya Island.  In court, Breivik said he killed his victims to fight multiculturalism in Norway.  Tell me, what part of Modern Warfare 2 is responsible for that?  So before everyone decides to point the blame towards video games, take a step back and notice that this guy is just nuts.

News flash, video games don't kill people, or even inspire people to kill others.  Crazy, a**holes with guns kill people - as evidenced by Anders Breivik.

Any excuse to blame someone else, I suppose.  Check out CNN for the full recap of today's trial.
